Tim A. (Ace) Bartlett went home to be with the Lord, May 9, 2018, at the age of 68. He loved to say he was made in Austin, Texas on October 22, 1949 by his parents, Ace M. and Polly Bartlett. The Bartlett family home was at 2807 Del Curto Rd. in south Austin from the time Tim was born until he sold the property after the death of his parents, Ace in 2007 and Polly in 2013. All who knew Tim knew of his devotion to his friend Ronnie Morriss who also preceded him in death. He was a man of great faith having been a life-long member of the Baptist faith and current member of Bannockburn Baptist Church.
Tim is survived by his beloved wife, Marinell; 4 legged furry children, Eva, Bebe, Moms, Winny Pu, Jazzbo, Swatz, Tiggrr and Berry White. He also leaves behind nieces Kayla Murphy and Abby Parker, numerous cousins and close friends.
After graduating from Travis High School, Austin, TX in 1968, he received a degree in biology from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University) in San Marcos, Texas in 1974. He chose a different career path from his degree and became a real estate appraiser like his Dad covering Travis and all surrounding countries. There was not a place especially in Austin; he could not give multiple directions for how to get there.
Tim had a variety of passions besides his family and friends over the years such as photography, woodworking and different shooting sports. He enjoyed participating and the comradery in competitive shooting sports and for cowboy action shooting matches was known by his alias ‘Travelin Jones’. His Shooting Club, the Texas Caballeros honored him with a seven gun Cowboy Salute before their regularly scheduled match on May 19, 2018.
The family would like to thank Dr. Jennifer Wright and her staff along with all the 2nd floor oncology nurses at Texas Oncology south. Also the family is very grateful to Patti and Brian with Hospice Austin and the staff of Christopher House for their support and care.
